Old School Quality
When I first started BeltUp, it was a shop dedicated entirely to cheap ‘genuine leather’ belts — belts that wore out far too quickly. And while people came in droves to get a bargain, I wanted to give them more.
So I set out on a new path — to create belts that were superior in quality, built to last, and still fairly priced. I didn’t want to follow the big brands that charged unattainable prices for their name alone, nor did I want to keep offering products that didn’t live up to their promise. I wanted to bridge the gap: to make premium leather belts accessible to everyone, from the person buying their first “proper” belt to the lifelong leather enthusiast. HOW OUR BELTS ARE MADE IN BRISBANE
We don’t just buy belts and add a logo. Our Aussie-made range is cut, punched, polished and finished in our own workshop at DFO Brisbane.
Here’s how your leather belt comes to life:
1. Cut from full grain hides
We start with premium full grain leather and cut each strap to width for strength and comfort.
2. Edges shaped and smoothed
The edges are bevelled and burnished so they sit smoothly against your clothing and don’t dig into your waist.
3. Holes punched
We punch the holes using a hand press and die cutter for uniform spacing and accuracy (plus less noise than hammering each hole). 🧡
4. Buckle fitted with hardware
We attach solid hardware using screws where possible, so you can adjust or swap the buckle down the track.
5. Finished, inspected and hung
Each belt is then conditioned, checked by eye and hung in our workshop ready to be shipped or fitted.

Great, well worth it.
Great product - refreshed my work belt at a fraction of the cost of the an RM replacement. The leather is solid and it was easy to fit the buckle etc on the new leather using the Chicago screws which actually make the belt feel more solid than the stitching on the original . Good to support a business local to me too
A more robust leather with reinforced edges where it threads through the ring buckle. I fear that over time and with regular usage the leather will abrade. This is more an observation based on experience rather than a criticism. Thank you
Plaited Kangaroo Belt | Ring Buckle
Store owner replied: Hi Ashley. Just out of curiosity, is your experience based on Kangaroo leather or cowhide? Kangaroo leather is extremely durable. It is up to 10 times stronger than cowhide at comparable thicknesses and resists tearing and scuffing exceptionally well. I hope this provides some reassurance. Love it it is exactly what i ordered not like the way too large belt
Its good but I measured my other belt from the tart of the buckle to end tip of belt to be 40 inches and the belt i ordered was to be 40 inches but the one you sent is 47 inches. Way too big so I am not happy with my purchase

Store owner replied: Typically seeing a 3 star review causes me to worry. But in this case, I hope I can reassure you that the belt you ordered is top notch. Very few, if any, hand make a belt with Italian vegetable tanned leather at this price. This belt will be around for 10+ years provided you give it a little TLC (leather conditioner) from time to time. Plus we have a lifetime guarantee. If it breaks due to a manufacturing defect we will repair or replace it. I hope you look back in many years from now and think it was well worth the money. ☺️ Cheers Amy
